CALL FOR ARTISTS:
"Dialogue Between Young Writers From Serbia And Great Britain" – Group 5
Group 5 - Jasmina Topic, Jelena Nikolic, Dejan Cancarevic, Srdjan Papic, Ana Seferovic, Marko Salapura Group 5 are six young writers/critics living and working in Serbia. They share a common fresh approach to literature through a process of separating text from its primary printed form and through use of the suggestive possibilities of voice, sound and image in presenting literary works. They aim at transcending the boundaries of language through performing live readings of translated texts – Serbian to English, English to Serbian.
Group 5 is organising a literary exchange project between Serbia and the UK to take place in Belgrade and London in Spring and Summer 2006.
The exchange will consist of a series of workshops, presentations and talks around the question:
“How do we see our writing in the context of new media and performance and how much does it change under these influences?“
We are looking for 15 British London based writers under the age of 31 with at least one published work. Their work will be published in a literary magazine in Belgrade in 2006 together with the work of their Serbian colleagues.
Five out of the initial fifteen writers will be selected for the exchange project and all their travel and accommodation expenses will be covered for the duration of the project in Serbia.
The project is a series of encounters and workshops with five Serbian and five British writers in Belgrade and London. The work created during the encounters will be published in book and CD format as well as in a number of magazines in Serbia.
The workshops will take place in, amongst others, the Belgrade and Pancevo Cultural Centres and the Faculty of Philology, Belgrade.
